Now, several years later, I'm a little more picky about which events to attend. With a small baby and a lovely home which I enjoy spending time at, going out all the time isn't quite as appealing as it once was.
Now I only go to the great events.
Which brings me to the point of today's blog. Invitations. I get a lot of them through work. And there are definitely ones which grab my attention and those which get forgotten about.
Today I received an invitation in the mail in a petrie dish. It's fantastic.
It's
for the Bone Foundation, and it definitely got our attention. I'll be
attending this event (which I probably wouldn't have if I just received a
regular paper invite) so whoever organised this little novely should be
congratulated.
It
got me thinking about other great invitations I've received in the
past, so I pulled one out which I've been saving. Looked great but the
info was confusing (it advertised the price of tickets, so I wasn't sure
if it was an ad for the event or an invitation) so I didn't go to the
event.
On
a final note, I also received an invitation today for an arts event,
which didn't have the date of the event on it, just the RSVP date.
You'd be surprised how often this happens. Looks like I won't be going
to that one either. There is just too much going on to be following up
events (which aren't personally connected to me) for more info. I'm sure
someone else will enjoy going though and it just means more family time
for me!
